Abbers

What better way to start our blog than by talking about the inspiration behind the name? (Besides the fact that every other name you could possibly think of was taken!) Abby, a.k.a Abbilicious, Abbers, Abs, Abigail, Abinators, stinkin' dog, was a stray picked off the streets of Fremont. We found her in the city shelter, and knew she was "the one" right away. Part German Shepard, part something else, she is a year old and full grown at 35 pounds. She could be the perfect dog, although she still has the occasional accident on the carpet (Carolyn, forget that you read that) and she likes to chew things like remote controls (Three so far. Way to go Angie for leaving them out all the time). We suspect that she was mistreated by a previous owner. It was almost like she didn't know how to be a real dog. But she has definitely come out of her shell, and is learning things like how to catch food in her mouth (Thanks to Derek). Life with Abby is fun. She loves to go running, and loves to play outside in the park. She is constantly making us laugh, and is about the most gentle dog you would ever want to meet. She even made friends with Becca, Angie's 6 year old niece who was terrified of dogs. Here are some pictures of her. Check out her cute ears!
